ROPES COURSE

What: team building, get to know each other, fun
Where: Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center, Parkton, MD
When: Sunday, Sept. 16 or Saturday, Sept. 29; 8:30 am - 6:30 pm.
Who: Advocates for Children (Freshmen: required; Sophomores: optional)

Meet at 8:00 am in Cumberland by the fish tank

For some of what we are going to be doing we will be on sunny, grassy areas, but MOST of the activities (team-building, problem-solving, and hopefully zip line) are in wooded areas--you may be exposed to damp grass, dirty logs, etc. Please dress accordingly. Wear something comfortable and bring an extra layer (light jacket, raincoat) just in case it's rainy (in a light rain we'll still be outside). Shorts are okay. Closed-toed shoes are recommended.

Lunch is being provided by a caterer hired by Genesee Valley. We expect the lunches to be at least as good as the ones we had for the service-learning day, except that this time you don't have to pay for it!

Eat breakfast before you come or bring some food with you. (Breakfast will not be provided, and the dining halls are not open until 11 am.) If you want to have more food than is likely to be provided at lunch (probably comparable to the service-learning day lunch), please bring it. You'll probably want to bring a water bottle that you can carry with you throughout the day to the various activities (they recommend it).

You may want to bring a camera.

We will arrive back by 6:30 pm. (The Diner closes at 7:30 pm.) Late night dining hall hours on Sunday start at 9:00 pm.
