1. PETER EDELMAN TALK ON CAMPUS
Professor Peter Edelman will be speaking on Thursday, February 5, at 5:00 pm in Tyser Auditorium. This event is strongly recommended for Advocates by Dr. Gardner, who says that the Dr. Edelman's remarks will be "essential" for Advocates to hear. Peter Edelman is a Georgetown University Law Center Professor and Former Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. A reception will follow Prof. Edelman's remarks.

2. TALK ON CAMPUS BY DR. THOMAS GOLGUERA
Dr. Golguera will speak on issues relating to education for Latino and African American Students. The lecture takes place on February 12 at 4:00 pm in the Stamp Student Union Atrium. The lecture is co-sponsored by the AASP and PG County Public Schools.

3. ALL SECOND YEAR STUDENTS:
According to our lists, 9 sophomores are registered for Freshman Colloquium (118C) instead of Sophomore Colloquium (218C). Please check MARS (301-403-0500) and make sure you are registered for the right colloquium!

4. ALL SECOND YEAR STUDENTS (2):
If you have not registered for Internship (whether you did it previously or are doing it this semester), you must do so now (CPSP 259C. Individual (regular) internship: section 0101 MARS index#11245; Discovery project internship: section 0301 MARS index#11247).

5. ADVOCATES ACTIVITIES:
If you would like to see some cool activities happen in our program this semester, come to the meeting of the Field Trip & (other) Activities Committees meeting: Thursday, February 5 at 6:30 pm in the Cumberland 2nd floor North Lounge. If you cannot make it to the meeting but have ideas which you would like to have discussed, please e-mail them to Kevin before tomorrow night (bax@wam.umd.edu).
