1. SPECIAL SPEAKER:
Elijah Anderson, author of the reading WE are doing ("Code of the Streets") for our March 11 speaker, is going to be speaking right here on campus. He will discuss his research on the interactions leading to violent crime in the highly charged environments of young men in public places. He will also discuss prevention techniques. Friday, Feb. 27, from 10am to noon in LeFrak Hall auditorium. The event is free, but seating is limited so reservations are encouraged. Call 405-6744.

2. ALL SECOND YEAR STUDENTS:
If you have not registered for Internship (CPSP 259C--whether you did it previously or are doing it this semester), you are already LATE (We have to go through a special process to help you add it). Please contact us NOW. Individual (regular) internship: section 0101 MARS index#11245; Discovery project internship: section 0301 MARS index#11247).

3. ALL FIRST YEAR ADVOCATES:
There is a sign-up sheet outside the Advocates for Children Office (Cumberland 1120). If you have not already signed up, please go by the Advocates office THIS WEEK and put your name on the list (you can select a day and time when you are able to meet with Dr. Gardner).

4. COLLECTION OF FUNDS FOR "HOPE FOR KIDS":
Nolana, a College Park Scholars Alumni, is raising money for an organization called Hope for Kids. The money will be used for immunizations for children. There will be a collection envelope in the Advocates for Children Office. Any & all donations are appreciated!
