1. ATTENDANCE MAKE-UP WORK:
As all of you who checked your e-mail are aware, there is a make-up assignment due by April 15 for all those who left class early last week, or who missed class altogether without being excused to hear Martin Luther King III. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the assignment, please contact Elizabeth by phone (x45909) or e-mail (elizb@wam.umd.edu) or Steve by e-mail (sw125@umail.umd.edu). THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL NOT BE DISCUSSED BEFORE OR DURING CLASS TODAY BECAUSE WE HAVE A SPECIAL SPEAKER.

2. CHARITY SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT UPDATE:
We are proud to announce that Advocates for Children has already raised $73.65 and has earned the #1 seed in the upcoming softball tournament. We don't plan on stopping there, however. As the founding group of this tournament, Advocates is looking to make a strong statement to the other programs by raising $100 for charity from their student body ($200 total including matching funds). As you all know, we are representing Project Children, and hopefully our Advocates team will garner first, second, or third in the tournament and be able to get a contribution to them. So far, fifteen players are signed up to play on the Advocates team, with a few spots left if anyone is interested. Donations can be made in class, dropped off in the Advocates Office, or given to Kevin. If you are interested in playing or helping Kevin in running the tournament that day (Saturday, April 25 from 10 am - 6 pm), please contact him (x49672, bax@wam.umd.edu).

3. SPEAKER ON CHILD WELFARE:
Dr. Ruth Zambrana, Director of the Center for Child Welfare at George Mason University, will deliver a lecture titled, "Child Welfare Issues in African-American and Hispanic Communities," as part of the Multi-Culturalism and Education lecture series.

4. ROOM SELECTION:
On April 29th, Cambridge Community Floor Meetings are being held for room selection. For more information, please contact your Resident Director or ask your RA's.
