A PLAY AT TAWES THEATRE, FREE FOR ADVOCATES STUDENTS, WILL COUNT AS A HALF FIELD TRIP:

"The World Goes 'Round," a play (description below) on Thursday (10/22) at 8 pm at Tawes Theatre on campus, will count as a half field trip. The program has received discounted tickets, thanks to the Scholars "Arts" program, but there will be no cost to you. We need you to come, however, if you commit to doing so. If you commit to going but don't go, you get DOCKED a half field trip. As an alternative to being docked, you may reimburse us the $5 we lost because you didn't go, OR (3rd alternative) you may give your ticket to someone else (friend, anyone - doesn't have to be a scholar) who then goes instead of you. BUT, if you use this 3rd alternative, you or that person must call our office (ext. 4-5909) and leave a message, or e-mail me (Steve - sw125@umail.umd.edu), *by 8 pm* on Thursday (the night of the performance) just to let us know.

One former Advocate (graduate) who went last week was very enthusiastic and said she highly recommends the play.

There will be a special block of seats reserved for College Park Scholars. There will also be a reception afterward for scholars students, complete with free munchies like cheese, fruit, "gourmet" cookies, apple cider, etc.
