[Children's Defense Fund] Children's Defense Fund. The Children's Defense Fund exists to provide a strong and effective voice for all the children of America, who cannot vote, lobby, or speak out for themselves. CDF pays particular attention to the needs of poor, minority, and disabled children. CDF believes that no child should be left behind, and that every child needs and deserves a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start, and a Moral Start in life.

Kids Campaigns [dead link]. A communications hub published by the Benton Foundation to provide one-stop shopping for information on public policy issues affecting kids. [Kids Campaigns]
Coalition for America's Children [dead link]. The Coalition for America's Children is an alliance of 350 national, state, and local nonprofit organizations working together since 1990 to call attention to the serious obstacles impeding children's well-being and to boost children's concerns to the top of the public policy agenda. [Children Now] Children Now is a nonpartisan policy and advocacy organization for children. Featuring a wealth of information and links to other internet resources, this site is enormous in scope and very comprehensive.

HandsNet [dead link]. "Action alerts" are provided by members of the HandsNet community regarding proposed legislation impacting children. [HandsNet]

[KidsPeace] KidsPeace. The KidsPeace vision is to turn a nation of kids in crisis into a nation of strong and supportive families by creating a future in which: (1) every American understands a strong nation depends upon building "familyhood" where kids are safe, able to trust, loved, and free to grow; (2) every person has the tools to protect and nurture kids; and (3) every child can find help in time of crisis.

Global ChildNet. Uses the Internet to offer a range of easily accessible, child health related, on-line services. These services include databases and other information on issues related to the well-being of the world's children. [Global ChildNet]

[National Parents' Day Coalition] The National Parents' Day Coalition (NPDC) [dead link]. Their primary goal is to provide "Parenting Professionals" with a vehicle for an exchange of information, networking, and building of partnerships and collaboratives. Two of our "Advocates for Children" students, Kai-lee Kurlychek and Megan Byrne, received the Future Award at the National Press Club from the National Parents' Day Coalition.

The National Fatherhood Initiative. The mission of the National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) is to improve the well-being of children by increasing the number of children growing up with loving, committed and responsible fathers. A non-profit, non-sectarian, non-partisan organization, NFI conducts public awareness campaigns promoting responsible fatherhood, organizes conferences and community fatherhood forums, provides resource material to organizations seeking to establish support programs for fathers, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and disseminates informational material to men seeking to become more effective fathers. [The Dreamshot Foundation] The Tate George Dreamshot Foundation and the "Dads Do Make a Difference" Campaign [dead link]. Their mission is to encourage all Dads to become or stay involved and in those instances where Dads are not involved, to encourage youth without consistent positive male role models to seek them out.
